Success is often measured by results, but the story behind those results is what people remember. For CA Pranav Sharma, becoming a Chartered Accountant was never a quick win. It took him twenty attempts to clear the CA Final examination, spread across nearly ten years. The long wait tested his patience, but he never gave up on the dream that meant so much to him and his family.
Born in Lucknow and brought up in Delhi, Pranav grew up in a close family where hard work and simple values shaped his life. His father believed deeply in his son’s dream of becoming a Chartered Accountant and looked forward to the day he could proudly tell others about his son’s success.
Twenty Attempts, One Dream
The CA Final examination is known for its high level of difficulty. For many people, repeated failure becomes a reason to stop trying. For Pranav, every result became another reason to keep going.
Along with his studies, life moved forward. Personal responsibilities grew, and the years passed. Still, he continued preparing for the examination, hoping that one day his hard work would pay off.
After twenty attempts, the result he had waited so long for finally arrived. He had cleared the CA Final examination.
The Celebration That Never Happened
The result brought happiness, but it also came during one of the hardest times in his life.
His father was in the hospital when the result was announced. He was able to see his son achieve the dream they had both waited for over many years. Sadly, only seven days later, Pranav lost him.
His father saw the success but never got the chance to celebrate it in the way he had imagined for so long. That memory has stayed with Pranav ever since and changed the way he looks at success, family, and life.
What Success Means to Him Now
The loss of his father gave Pranav a different view of achievement. Professional success became important, but so did the people who share those moments with us.
That experience also shaped the way he thinks about relationships. It reminded him that time with loved ones is limited and that some words should never be left unsaid.
The Emotions That Inspired His First Novel

The emotions that stayed with him later found a place in his writing. His debut novel, I Had a Best Friend Too, tells a story about friendship, regret, forgiveness, and second chances. Set during the days of Orkut, SMS packs, and train travel, the novel brings back memories of a time when friendships grew through simple conversations.
While the story is fiction, the feelings behind it come from real experiences and personal reflection. Through the book, Pranav hopes readers will think about old friendships, forgotten conversations, and the value of saying “I’m sorry” before it is too late.
Writing the Stories Still Waiting to Be Told
Along with his work as a Chartered Accountant and entrepreneur, Pranav continues to write. He is currently working on a collection of short stories based on everyday emotions and human relationships.
His life reminds us that success is not always about how fast we reach our goals. Sometimes, it is about having the strength to keep trying, even when the road is much longer than expected. More importantly, it is about remembering that achievements matter most when they can be shared with the people we love.
